International Guests

We absolutely cannot wait to have all of our guests from abroad arrive to celebrate the festivities with us. Please find all the details you need to plan your trip below!

Do I need a visa to travel to the UK?

Yes, as of January 8th 2025, if you are travelling from the USA, you will need to apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA). This should be straight forward and similar to the US ESTA. It costs £10 ($12.41). Please see website below for guidance and eligibility if applying from other countries. The ETA can be applied for using an app, please ONLY use the gov.uk website for guidance on how to do this

Where should I fly into?

Most of the wedding events will be held in London or close to London. There is a direct flight from MSP to LHR (London Heathrow) with Delta once a day. I would suggest flying into London Heathrow if possible as there are excellent train links to get into London quickly from there. You may find flights into London Gatwick (LGW) which should still be manageable to get into London, it is just a little further away. Contact Tulsi or Zach if you need help before booking your flights.

How do I get from the airport to London?

London Heathrow LHR or London Gatwick LGW

- You can book a transfer on booking.com to North London which may cost approx £60-£70 depending on time of day

- From Heathrow you can get the Heathrow express which is an overground train, running every 15 minutes direct to London Paddington. This takes approximately 15-20 minutes and can be booked in advanced for £10pp. Please note you will likely have to change to the London Underground when at Paddington to get to your final destination.

- From Gatwick you can book a train via the trainline app, direct to London Victoria. This takes approximately 35 minutes and they also run regularly. Prices can range between £12-25 if booked in advance. Please note you will likely have to change to the London Underground when at Victoria Station to get to your final destination.

Where should I stay?

PLEASE NOTE THE PRE-WEDDING EVENTS ARE BASED IN NORTH LONDON AND THE WEDDING DAY IS IN LUTON. Please see the accommodation section of the website for hotel links. We suggest staying in the North London Area for the pre-wedding events - we have linked two budget hotels locally for this under the accommodation tab. Then there will be a discount available for the second wedding hotel in Luton for 1 or 2 nights, depending on your preference.

Do I need to hire a car?

You are welcome to hire a car, however Uber is very affordable from the hotels we will suggest in London to get to the pre-wedding events. The London underground is extremely accessible for sightseeing, and an overground train is available to get to Luton for the wedding ceremony.

What apps should I download before coming?

See our list below of essentials and personal favourites

Essentials

. Uber or Bolt - I suggest downloading and setting this up in advance for taxi's

. Google maps - this is great for travel around Central London, and it also has fairly accurate bus and train times when you are planning routes

. Apple or Android Pay - Most of the UK is cashless, if you are able to set up apple pay on your phone this would be really handy - this is also how you can tap on and off the tubes or buses

. Train Line - this is used for overground trains (going outside of London), this can be used if you are coming from Gatwick airport and also used if booking a train ticket to Luton for the wedding

Personal Favourites

. Booking.com - this is an app used for hotels and flight usually, however it also really great for booking airport transfers if you want to

. City Mapper- this can be used as an alternative to google maps but is great for navigating ALL public transport in London with live departure times and bus locations

. Today tix - for cheap west end shows (see more info below)

. Michelin Guide - has great recommendations for restaurants in the area

Do I have any time inbetween wedding events to sightsee?

Yes, depending on when you land. We recommend leaving Friday the 11th and Sunday the 13th of July as rest days. However, the hotels we have suggested are very close to a London Underground station so you can easily go sightseeing!

I don't know where to start when planning what sights to see and activities to do...

We have created a google maps list so if you click the link below you can have access to it all from your phone. It is mostly sights to see so you can create a walking route, but there are also great bars/food markets included!

I want to see a west end show - how do I go about booking this for the best price?

There are a few ways you can book. Of course you can book directly through London Theatre Direct or Ticketmaster UK. You can also book through an app called todaytix - they usually have great deals and sometimes flash sales if its for a show within the next 24-48hrs. My personal favourite is to go to the Leicester Square Box Office (this is tagged on our google list). If you go on the day you can often get the BEST deal on brilliant seats with a good price for whatever is available that day or the next. This works for matinee and evening performances.

I would love to go on vacation after the wedding, what do you suggest?

Conveniently, the wedding is located right near London Luton Airport which is one of our smaller airports that have lots of direct flights to Europe the day after the wedding. I would suggest comparing prices on google flights or skyscanner but they are all relatively cheap! Below I have listed all of the flights going from Luton to other countries the day after the wedding. If you need any help with where to go, feel free to contact Tulsi whom can give you an idea on the vibe of each place.
