We are looking forward to celebrating our Indian wedding festivities with you all!
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Marissa, Tulsi's American best friend.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Tulsi since 2016, when we became flatmates while studying in Liverpool. We bonded over flip cup, Love Island, and being Liverpool fans, and before long, we were staying up late, talking for hours, and being each other's therapists. In Tulsi, I found a friend that was impossible to leave behind.
The universe works in amazing ways. And while it brought Tulsi and I together, I believe it did something even more incredible when Zach and Tulsi met. As some of you may know, Zach and Tulsi’s story began at my wedding last year. Tulsi had just flown in, and it just so happened to be the same week that Zach had moved to Minneapolis. He was joining our group dinner with a mutual friend who introduced him as Dr. Bergseth as he had just passed his PhD. When Zach asked what Tulsi did for work, she simply replied “I’m a real doctor.” (ha ha ha..!)
After that dinner, my husband and I decided to extend a last-minute invitation to Zach for the wedding, as a few of our guests had dropped out. And thank goodness we did because Zach and Tulsi ended up talking all night.
Before Tulsi left to fly home, Zach asked Tulsi on a date. Tulsi was a bit nervous, but I told her “Go for it! You're probably never going to see him again anyway.” Little did we know how wrong I’d be!
After returning from our honeymoon, I checked in on Tulsi and asked if she and Zach were still talking. And to my surprise, they were! Over the next few weeks, Tulsi shared with me some of her thoughts about him. Zach, here are a few things she said to me about you after knowing you for a few short weeks:
“The date really opened my eyes. Its the first time someone was trying to impress me.”
“I’m baffled how he is so into me, its like love at first sight.”
“We started Facetiming and I really do like him.”
“He's so great to me. Makes so much effort I think I’ve decided that I’m going to let him come
and visit.”
“Are you sure Hes normal? Is he too nerdy for me?”
“I like him a lot you know. He is just so great. Such a good heart. Cares so much.”
Zach, I think all of this shows just how much you care about Tulsi and how good of a man you are for her.
There are moments in all of our lives that are bigger than we realize at the time. And it’s only when you look back, that you say, “that was one of those life changing fork in the road moments and I didn’t even see it coming.” I even remember saying to people, “How crazy would it be if they made this work? What a story I could tell at their wedding.”
Well, here we are. So many little decisions and puzzle pieces had to fall into place for this day to have happened. And because of that, I truly do feel that you both have found your person. I love you both so much and I couldn’t be happier for you.
